Philanthropy

The Kindly Hearts Initiative serves as the umbrella for Alpha Xi Delta's philanthropic focus on supporting children and teens experiencing foster care or homelessness. In addition, we support two key impact organizations, FosterClub and StandUp for Kids. FosterClub is the national network for young people in foster care. They provide direct support to young people in foster care and work to change the child welfare system for the better. StandUp for Kids serves unaccompanied homeless and at-risk youth – and young parents with children of their own – up to their 25th birthday. Their ongoing mission is to end the cycle of youth homelessness through four core direct service programs: Street Outreach, Outreach Centers, Mentoring, and Housing.We also have our local impact organization, the Friends of Lucas County Children Services. The Friends of LCCS's mission is to enhance the lives of children and families served by Lucas County Children Services. Friends of LCCS also serve to uplift foster parents and relative caregivers by showing them appreciation and providing them opportunities to interact with and gain support from each other.Alpha Xi Delta believes all children and teens deserve unconditional love and support which is why we host multiple philanthropy events throughout the year. Letters of Love is a letter-writing campaign that raises money for our key impact organizations, FosterClub and StandUp for Kids. Ziti with the Xi’s is our Philanthropy dinner that we host once a semester, which raises money for our local impact organization, Friends of LCCS. AmaXing Challenge is Alpha Xi Delta’s signature fundraising event benefitting our Local Impact org Friends of LCCS.

Letters of Love
All Alpha Xi Delta chapters and alumnae associations participate in Letters of Love, Alpha Xi Delta’s national letter writing fundraising campaign. Held annually during the month of November this campaign benefits Alpha Xi Delta’s two Key Impact Organizations, StandUp for Kids and FosterClub. To learn more about Letters of Love, click here.
