Our chapter actively raises money for our national philanthropy Autism Speaks. The Theta Chi chapter puts on two main events during the school year to exclusively raise money for Autism Speaks: Our semi-annual dinner Fuzzie Funnelcakes and Karaoke for a Cause. The Theta Chi Chapter also actively gives back to their community through multiple student organizations and service projects. Read more about these events below.
Fuzzie Funnel Cakes:
Fuzzie Funnel Cakes is a Philanthropy Dinner we host every semester. We serve unlimited deep fried Oreos, funnel cakes, popcorn, and cotton candy. All money raised at this event is donated to Autism Speaks!
Karaoke for a Cause:
Once a semester, we put on a Karaoke night in our Student Union as part of our AmaXIng Challenge. Our sisters and other members of campus can participate in either a lip sync category or original karaoke. Crowd participation is crucial as they determine the winners of all categories. All proceeds go to Autism Speaks!
This amazing facility aids in the development of disabled people including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder. As a chapter, we try to volunteer with them as many times as we can each year. Shown below is a photo of our sisters volunteering at a Halloween Walk at Sunshine Communities.
